SUBMISSION OF THE R&D REPORT RELATED TO THE PPB – BASE YEAR 2023: FINAL DEADLINE JULY 31, 2025

The final deadline for submitting the Demonstrative Report (RD) of Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I) activities by companies with investment obligations established in their Basic Production Process (PPB) — linked to industrial projects benefiting from the Productive and Technological Development Policy of the Manaus Free Trade Zone — referring to the 2023 base year (executed in 2024), is July 31, 2025, in accordance with SUFRAMA Resolution No. 71, dated May 6, 2016.
According to Article 20 of the regulation:
“Art. 20. The demonstrative reports must be submitted to SUFRAMA by July 31 of the year following the previous calendar year.”
Therefore, companies with R&D&I obligations under the PPB requirements for the 2023 base year (executed in 2024) must submit their respective Demonstrative Report by July 31, 2025, in compliance with the technical and documentary requirements defined by SUFRAMA.
RISKS OF MISSING THE DEADLINE
Failure to meet the established deadline may result in administrative sanctions, including the blocking of the company’s SUFRAMA registration and suspension of import licensing requests, as set forth in Article 24 of the same resolution.
ATTENTION: EVEN AFTER SUBMISSION, MONITOR SUFRAMA COMMUNICATIONS
According to Paragraph 1 of Article 25 of Resolution No. 71, dated May 6, 2016, SUFRAMA may, at its discretion, request additional information or documents related to the execution of R&D&I activities. In such cases, the company will have a non-extendable deadline of 15 (fifteen) consecutive days to respond to SUFRAMA. Failure to comply within this period may result in the rejection of the submitted RD.
