The Single Import Declaration (DUIMP) is an electronic document that replaces the Import Declaration (DI) and the Simplified Import Declaration (DSI), unifying and modernizing Brazil’s import process. Implemented under the new import system in the Siscomex Portal, the DUIMP aims to provide greater agility, cost reduction, and enhanced control over import operations.
Purpose of the DUIMP
The main purpose of the DUIMP is to simplify and digitize import procedures, enabling better integration between government agencies and companies. It also allows for early cargo clearance and shorter customs release times, contributing to a more efficient import process.
Replacement of DI and DSI
With the adoption of the DUIMP, importers no longer need to use the DI or DSI. All information is consolidated into a single electronic document, reducing bureaucracy and improving traceability across import operations.
Integration with Multiple Agencies
One of the major innovations of the DUIMP is its integration with multiple regulatory and consenting agencies, allowing for more efficient and transparent oversight of imported goods.
Benefits of the DUIMP
The implementation of the DUIMP brings several advantages, including:
Reduced average cargo release time;
Greater predictability and security for importers;
Lower operational costs;
Improved traceability and control of import activities.
Impact on the Manaus Free Trade Zone
For companies located in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), the DUIMP represents a significant advancement. It enables greater control over imported inputs and their correct application in Basic Production Processes (PPB). With this new system, companies can optimize their procedures and ensure compliance with SUFRAMA regulations.
The DUIMP marks a milestone in the modernization of Brazil’s foreign trade. By replacing outdated forms, it reduces bureaucracy, enhances security, and increases efficiency in import operations. For importers, understanding and adapting to DUIMP is essential to ensure speed, compliance, and competitiveness in the international market.
